Widget not showing on Squarespace site
If the Bridge widget isn't appearing on your Squarespace site, follow these troubleshooting steps to identify and fix the issue.
Check Installation Method
First, verify how you installed Bridge:
- Squarespace Connection: If you connected with Squarespace, check that the connection is still active in your Bridge dashboard
- Code Injection: If you used manual installation, verify the widget code is in Squarespace's Code Injection settings (Settings → Advanced → Code Injection → Header)
Clear Browser Cache
Cached versions of your Squarespace site might hide the widget:
- Clear your browser cache and cookies
- Try viewing your Squarespace site in an incognito/private browser window
- Hard refresh the page (Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows/Linux or Cmd+Shift+R on Mac)
Verify Widget Code
If using Code Injection, check that:
- The widget code is in the Header section (not Footer)
- The code is complete and hasn't been cut off
- There are no extra characters or formatting issues
- The website ID in the code matches your dashboard
Check Website Status
Verify in your Bridge dashboard:
- Your Squarespace website shows as "Active"
- The domain matches your Squarespace site's domain
- The widget code is displayed correctly
Wait for Propagation
Sometimes changes take a few minutes to appear:
- Wait 5-10 minutes after installation
- Check multiple pages on your Squarespace site
- Try different browsers
Reinstall the Widget
If the above steps don't work, try reinstalling:
- If you connected with Squarespace, disconnect and reconnect your Squarespace site
- If using Code Injection, remove the old code and add it again
- Get a fresh widget code from your dashboard if needed
Tip: The widget loads asynchronously, so it won't slow down your Squarespace site. If you still don't see it after trying these steps, contact support with details about your installation method.
